Thoughts on HTC Surround

Okay…I took the leap! I finally gave up my 16 year old rateplan in favor of upgrading my phone. I usually just keep my plan and buy an unlocked phone, but the Windows Mobile (and my old dinosaur phone malfunctioning) 7 phone has pushed me into the era of touch screen and the cloud.

Something I probably should have done awhile ago…

Interestingly enough, the way of the Active Synch has went on the wayside and the new phones don’t synch with Outlook unless you have an Exchange Server or plug in…
I had to set up a hot mail account and synch my calendar and contacts with it.

Though a lot of people think it a bug, I really think it was implemented by design…

 

We are moving away from hooking up your phone to the computer. Having your contacts, calendar, appointments, and tasks synching online with your phone over the internet is one step close to user mobility and accessing your information wherever you are (or at least if you have signal or wifi).

 

Anyway, I get my phone today and I’ll finally get to play with it—Pretty exciting!

It's not all that bad actually. I'm just rambling on. Too much to do in so little time. One tends to forget the really important things in life. To cherish what one has and not take the small things for granted...
